Camp Beaumont

Camp Beaumont is a well-established holiday camp for children ages 4-16 in London. They have been running for over 40 years. They started working with Creative Pod in November 2020 to create a new website, and we have since taken on their PPC marketing activity.

Camp Beaumont’s previous website was very confusing and difficult to navigate for parents trying to book their children into the camps. Consequently, they were having to spend unnecessary time and money taking a large volume of phone calls from parents who found it easier to call them and book. One of the reasons for the difficulty was that the website had been set up with very basic functions and content, and was repeatedly added to as more time went by, so the customer journey hadn’t been properly considered.

The website was also on a poor content management system which made it hard to update.

The purpose, therefore, was to streamline the website and makes it more accessible for customers to explore and use the booking system.

The Brief

Camp Beaumont’s previous website was very confusing and difficult to navigate for parents trying to book their children into the camps. One of the reasons for the difficulty was that the website had been set up with very basic functions and content, and was repeatedly added to as more time went by, so the customer journey hadn’t been properly considered.

Our Solutions
Website

We worked out how to present the information in the easiest way, whilst still getting across the fun and dynamic tone of the brand. We also spent a lot of time making sure that the website was linked well with the booking page, running it through wire framing with user flows to test customer journeys.

The outcome was a streamlined, interesting website that was easy to navigate and book slots on.

Marketing

The marketing department worked on Google and Facebook Ads for Camp Beaumont’s Easter holiday camps. The allocated budget was £14,000 in total, and we spent just under £9,000.

We split test a number of different descriptions, titles and imagery to create numerous adverts. Using the adverts, we then worked closely with Camp Beaumont on the targeting and established that parents were unlikely to travel further than 3-4KM to the camp. As a result we targeted each camp postcode area with a radius of 5km maximum.  We also implemented re-marketing and a lookalike audience to encourage abandoned baskets to return, while working to reach a wider pool of people.

We saw a 175 conversions and a click through rate of 1.31% and 10.64% on Facebook and Google retrospectively which is excellent.
